Visualize the distress of being a child separated from their Parents, possessions, and home and not having anything to hold for comfort. Sadly, each year, hundreds of children in Missouri must be rescued from abuse, abandonment, neglect, some are even homeless. They are Traumatized and facing an uncertain future, they frequently enter foster care, with nothing, no favorite stuffed animal, no special blanket. They are afraid, confused, and desperate for reassurance. Now visualize having all of your belongings placed into a trash bag when you’re taken to a foster home. It is horrific enough that a child has been abused or neglected, but then to have all of their belongings placed into a trash bag, which places a feeling of worthlessness on the child. It makes them feel like garbage. Our goal is to give every child in Missouri with help from donations, the ability to provide children with a new duffle bag and with new belongings, and hope to have a better life and feel the love they deserve.
